Data Garden artists Joe Patitucci and Jon Shapiro will lead a plant music meditation during a full day of music including a performance by Laraaji and Arji.

The musical compositions in QUARTET are generated by the electronic impulses produced by four plants. This data, sourced using a MIDI controller for plants (MIDI Sprout), is translated into music designed to allow listeners to monitor subtle energetic activities in their environment.

So, what are the plants responding to? Well, that’s up for discovery. Plants are responding to stimuli both perceivable and unperceivable to humans. Many visitors have experienced shifts in plant music patterns in sync with thoughts, feelings, actions and intentions. Many notice they feel relaxed after spending time with musical plants.
