PLANTWAVE is a revolutionary technology that turns plants’ biorhythms into music! Brought to you by the creators of Midi Sprout, the new PlantWave app detects slight electrical variations in a plant via two electrodes placed on the leaves. These variations are graphed as a wave, which we translate into pitch messages, or notes that are routed to play digital instruments. Other characteristics of the wave are translated into messages that give a plant the ability to change the textural qualities of those sounds. The result is a continuous stream of pleasing music that gives you a sonic window into the secret life of plants.

JOHANNA WARREN is a nomadic singer-songwriter whose music has garnered praise from The NY Times, Pitchfork, NPR and Rolling Stone. On the 2018 release tour for her album Gemini II, Johanna embarked on a three-month national "Plant Medicine Tour." On every stop of this 60+ city trip, she partnered with local biodynamic farmers, herbalists, and environmental activists to share their work at her concerts and connect with their communities. An herbalist and Reiki Master, Johanna approaches music as a potent healing modality for personal catharsis and collective transformation.
JOE PATITUCCI (co-founder, PlantWave) is an artist creating technology to bring ideas to life. He produces multi-channel plant music installations and leads guided meditations with plants. The design principles behind his artistic practice are built into PlantWave’s software. His excitement for plant music and background in communications make sharing the experience and building community around PlantWave a true passion.
